How to Use This Handbook
Status: Foundation draft · Owner: Unassigned · Last reviewed: Not yet reviewed
The sidebar is a map of research work, not a claim that every topic is complete. Each page starts as a Research brief with questions and expected outputs. Replace those prompts with observed facts and decisions as evidence is collected.
Page maturity
| Status | Meaning | Minimum requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Research brief | A scoped topic awaiting investigation | Questions, outputs, and owner |
| Working draft | Findings are being assembled | Sources, examples, unresolved issues |
| In review | Ready for domain review | Proposed decisions and acceptance cases |
| Approved | Accepted reference for this project | Named approver, review date, version |
| Superseded | Replaced by a newer decision | Link to replacement |
Evidence rules
- Label statements as observed fact, source claim, inference, or proposal when ambiguity matters.
- Cite the source of product claims; record a date for information that may change.
- Keep a representative apparel example alongside abstract rules.
- Record disagreement and exceptions rather than hiding them in a single “happy path.”
- Link decisions to the evidence that motivated them and to the workflows they affect.
Page review checklist
- Does the page answer its stated research questions?
- Are terms consistent with the glossary?
- Are color, size, version, and release effects explicit where relevant?
- Is every recommendation distinguishable from current-state observation?
- Are open questions and owners visible?
Use the evidence register and decision log for cross-cutting records.
